Marty has been in the carpet cleaning industry since he moved from
Campbell, California in 1967 and started his carpet cleaning business.
In 1974, Marty purchased Spokane's first truck mounted cleaning system
from HydraMaster. In 1978, he and his wife Diane purchased a re-upholstery
shop and successfully combined the two businesses, specializing in fine
fabric upholstery cleaning and repairs while raising their seven children.
After identifying a need for a local friendly chemical supplier, he
founded LPM Supply, Inc. in 1983. He became a Senior Carpet Inspector in
l990 and Marty served as President of the Carpet Cleaners Institute of the
Northwest (CCINW) from 1993 to 1994. Over the past 30 years, Marty has
volunteered for and been active on many industry related committees.
He is also well known for his culinary skills and special treats that he
prepares and shares. Besides spending time with his family which has
grown to include 15 grandchildren. Marty's other hobbies include weight
lifting, and hiking.
In May, Marty officially retired and passed the Presidency to his son Tim,
but remains active and vital in the industry while volunteering on
committees and freely giving of his time for mentoring or consulting.
